Carolyn is at my side often. I met her when I was 8 years old, and we crossed paths in many ways over many years. She was always there for long talks and clarifications. And still is. She remains a steadying and protective presence. I cannot attend her life celebraition as I leave for overseas work very soon, but my thoughts will be there, and I'll light a candle in her honor from afar.
